Cyclone Records' Brad Trew Joins "Heavy Metal Music Association of Canada" Board of Directors

Toronto, ON - January 31, 2008 -- Cyclone Records' founder Brad Trew is honoured to have been selected to hold a seat on the "Heavy Metal Music Association of Canada" board of directors because of "past involvement with the organization and due to his influence and participation presented in the industry." The HMMAC mandate is to bring Heavy Metal back to the mainstream of the Canadian music industry through a wide variety of initiatives. Following the unexpected passing of HMMAC founder Ray "Black Metal" Wallace last December, the future of the organization was in question. Now, with a renewed focus and enthusiasm, Ray's vision can finally be realized.

Brad says "there is definitely a spirit, a vision and a focus to make metal an accepted genre in mainstream outlets such as the Juno's, provincial award shows, terrestrial radio, etc. We are all part of that voice, so anything at all that you want brought to the table that you believe will help dispel some of the negativity surrounding metal music, the bands and its fans and make metal a respected and recognized art form, please speak up and be heard." About the Heavy Metal Music Association of Canada:
Founded in March 2006, the mandate of the Heavy Metal Music Association of Canada is to bring Heavy Metal back to the mainstream of the Canadian music industry. The HMMAC will drive such initiatives such as lobbying a Heavy Metal category at the Junos as well as all provincial music award shows, creating its own Canadian Heavy Metal award show as well as a Canadian Heavy Metal Hall Of Fame.
