Cyclone Records Launches "Eye of the Storm" Music Podcast
Toronto, ON - July 18, 2006 -- Cyclone Records announces that
it has started production on its own bi-weekly podcast aptly named
"Eye of the Storm." Podcasts are essentially radio-type
broadcasts in digital form that can be downloaded in mp3 (or other
formats) to be listened to on MP3 players or via computer. The podcast
is hosted by resident DJ's Josh MacNeil and Ike Lackey and can be
found at eyeofthestorm.libsyn.com.
Content for the show will be predominantly drawn from the Cyclone
catalogue spanning a dozen releases featuring music by over 40 artists
ranging from country to rock to metal. Twenty-five percent of the
music played will be other artists who are part of the extended Cyclone
community through tour liaisons, are becoming part of the roster or
are generally respected for their talent and attitudes. Also, you
can expect to hear interviews with the artists along with other general
interest items. Some shows will be devoted to the music industry and
will feature topics such as touring in the US, how to make the most
of festivals, music publishing, radio distribution, etc.
This initiative is part of Cyclone Records strategic approach to remain
leading edge and to fully take advantage of new technologies to further
the exposure and image of artists within its catalogue.
The podcast is distributed via LibSyn and RSS feeds and is also available
for free download through iTunes.
