Cyclone Artists to Appear on Extreme Sport DVD by Phat Mountain
Films
Toronto, ON - 4 October, 2006 -- Cyclone Records is pleased
to announce an alliance with Phat Mountain Films, an independent film
firm specializing in producing high-energy, over-the-top, extreme
sports videos.
Directed by Glen Decker, their upcoming DVD, "Divided Aggression,"
showcases elaborate freestyle/stunt snowmobiling and features eight
tracks by Cyclone Records' Inner Surge, Creature Republic,
Tripchord, and Pitch Union. Additional music will also
be provided by Urbnet Records. Brad Trew of Cyclone Records says "combining
the metal edge of the Cyclone acts with the hip-hop rhythms of Urbnet
creates a pace and tension that keeps the film moving from beginning
to end and divides the segments into definable parts. The music itself
becomes a main characteristic of this film."
The growing sport of snowmobiling has seen changes in the past few
years throughout Newfoundland. In the past, racing was the dominant
form of aggressive riding. The focus then began to shift with the
change of the climate patterns. With the unfortunate snow conditions
of 2006, racing was non-existent on the west coast of Newfoundland.
In order to bring the sport to nearby towns, freestyle grew in popularity.
Filmed in Gros Morne National Park on the west coast of Newfoundland,
the Long Range Mountains became the new playground for adrenaline
junkies in the form of freeriding. Rough terrain and harsh winters
are the perfect backdrop to this extreme sport.
"Divided Aggression" gives you an inside look at Newfoundland's
finest talents in this underground sport. Witness 100 foot ramp hits,
huge backcountry jumps, upside-down 180 whips, sick freestyle, and
the craziest freeriding on the east side of the continent. Combined
with the high-energy music presented by these bands, this film will
be a non-stop adrenaline rush.
The film will be released in theatres later this year with a limited
edition DVD distributed on 15 October 2006. Also, check out their
previous release, "Payin' Dues".
